Tower Park Playground Renovation Update

The Tower Park playground renovation project continues to make progress. Over $146,000 of the $276,228 project has been secured through donations and grants. The city is actively seeking additional community support and grant funding to bring this project to completion. The new playground will feature modern, accessible equipment for children of all ages and abilities.

Spring Yard Waste Burning Season Notice

Spring burning season runs March 15 through April 30, 2026. Only yard waste (leaves, small branches, garden debris) may be burned. Burning is permitted from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on days when wind speed is below 15 mph. Fires must be attended at all times and kept at least 25 feet from any structure. Please follow all city burning regulations outlined in the municipal code.

City Council Meeting Notice

The next regular City Council meeting will be held Monday, March 23, 2026 at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 191 Jacoby Dr E. The public is welcome to attend. Meeting agendas are posted on the city website prior to each meeting.

Tax Abatement Program for New Construction

The City of Epworth offers a tax abatement program for new residential construction. New single-family homes qualify for a 100% property tax exemption on the first $75,000 of assessed value. This incentive is designed to encourage residential growth and make homeownership more affordable in Epworth. Contact City Hall for full details and eligibility requirements.

City Election Results

The City of Epworth has certified the results of the November 2025 municipal election. Thank you to all candidates and voters who participated in the democratic process. Newly elected officials will be sworn in at the next regular council meeting. Full results are available through the Dubuque County Auditor's office.

Winter Snow Emergency Parking Reminders

With winter weather approaching, the City of Epworth reminds residents of snow emergency parking regulations. When a snow emergency is declared, all vehicles must be removed from city streets to allow snow plows to clear the roads. Vehicles not removed may be towed at the owner's expense. Snow emergencies are announced on the city website and local media outlets. Please plan ahead and move vehicles promptly.
