Collection Schedule

Garbage Pickup

  • Every Tuesday β€” weekly collection
  • Containers must be at the curb by 7:00 AM
  • 40 lb maximum per bag
  • Handles facing the street

Recycling Pickup

  • Every other Tuesday β€” bi-weekly collection
  • Containers must be at the curb by 7:00 AM
  • See accepted recyclables list below

Stickers and tags are available for purchase at City Hall.

  • Newspaper and inserts
  • Magazines and catalogs
  • Office paper and mail
  • Cardboard (flattened)
  • Cereal and food boxes
  • Plastic bottles (#1 and #2)
  • Milk jugs and detergent bottles
  • Aluminum and tin cans
  • Phone books
  • Paper bags

Prohibited Items

  • Hazardous waste or chemicals
  • Motor oil and automotive fluids
  • Batteries
  • Paint (liquid)
  • Medical or pharmaceutical waste
  • Tires
  • Construction debris in excess
  • Electronics (except with fee β€” see below)
  • Glass (not accepted curbside)

Burning Season

Epworth residents may burn yard waste during the designated burning seasons. Only yard waste is permitted β€” no household garbage, construction materials, or other debris.

Spring Season

March 15 – April 30

Fall Season

October 1 – November 15

Glass Recycling

Glass is not accepted for curbside pickup. Please use one of the drop-off locations below.

  • Dittmer Recycling β€” dedicated glass recycling facility
  • HyVee & Theisens β€” purple collection bins in parking lots
